What is AI document analysis?
AI document analysis combines text recognition and content review to identify the document type, important fields, summaries and possible tasks in uploaded files.

Documents and MIRA AI
How OCR, document classification and AI evaluation work together, and why important details must still be checked against the original.

AI document analysis combines text recognition, classification and content review. It can surface details from invoices, accounting documents, receipts or letters from authorities and prepare the next review steps. The results can still be incomplete or incorrect, so the original document remains authoritative.
A typical workflow covers file and quality checks, OCR, document classification, field extraction and a plain-language summary. Scan quality, layout, language and document type can all create uncertainty. Critical amounts, deadlines, file references and legal or tax-related statements must therefore be checked by a person.

Document analysis starts with file and quality checks. MIRA then reads the text, identifies the document type, extracts relevant fields and creates a plain-language summary. The original document remains the authoritative source.

MIRA is designed for typical business documents: incoming invoices, credit notes, receipts, cash register receipts, payment records and letters from authorities. Fields, review points and next steps differ by document type.

For invoices, MIRA can recognise details such as the issuer, invoice number, invoice date, amounts, VAT and payment details. Before filing the invoice or using it for tax data preparation, mandatory information, VAT amounts and the invoice context should be checked, especially with mixed VAT rates or hard-to-read templates.

Administrative language can be dense and consequential. MIRA can highlight the sender, file reference, deadline, amount and required action, then summarise them in clear language. If a formal objection, application or tax step is needed, the responsible authority, a tax adviser or legal counsel may need to clarify it.

A German document can be difficult even when day-to-day work in Germany is manageable. MIRA can provide summaries and explanations in the selected Motorica language. The original stays unchanged; the explanation is a working aid, not a certified translation.
The real value comes after the analysis. An incoming invoice can be prepared for document filing and payment workflows; a letter from an authority can create a deadline or task; an unclear accounting document or receipt can stay marked for review. AI becomes part of the digital office rather than a separate chat.
Poor photos, handwriting, cut-off pages, unusual layouts, tables and mixed VAT rates can reduce recognition quality. Even summaries that read clearly may be incomplete in substance. Motorica therefore does not make tax or legal decisions from an AI result.
Invoices and letters from authorities can contain personal, financial or health data. Motorica processes MIRA documents on systems operated in Germany. Data minimisation, clear access rights, secure transmission and checking whether a document is necessary for the intended purpose remain essential.
Recognised invoice and accounting document data can speed up tax data preparation, but it must be checked before use and assigned to the correct business transaction. Motorica supports preparation for German advance VAT returns (UStVA) and EÜR cash-basis profit statements; direct DATEV document transfer and final EÜR filing are not automatic or end-to-end in this workflow.
MIRA works best with clear file formats, complete scans and defined review steps. Existing documents can be brought into Motorica as part of an agreed data migration when the export format and scope are suitable. MIRA does not replace a document archive with specialised requirements or professional advice.
